Trip : Southern California

Posted by scottjarvie on August 23, 2007

I went down to LA with a couple of friends. I was hired to take wedding pictures at the LA LDS temple and later on for the reception in Pasadena. It all went great and I’ll be editing the pictures and all of the travel pictures for a good time to come.

The trip went as follows.
Provo > LA
Wedding LA | Reception Pasadena
PCH drive
Swimming at Carlsbad and Mission Beach
Padres Game
Church where I grew up (9 years later) lots of remember me?s
Tijuana to Mexicali
Camping at Joshua Tree national Park
Drive to St. George
Emerald Pool hike at Zion National Park
Angel’s Landing Hike
Narrows Hike
Return to Provo 1am
Do another wedding 10am

That should about cover what I did this last week.
What am I doing next week? See above… I’ll be sorting and editing the pictures.

Website Update

Posted by scottjarvie on August 8, 2007

In addition to updating my website with the last 7 events (that up until now could be found only on this Blog)
I have worked on making my photography site much more streamline and simple.

1. A simple intro page as the first thing you see.

2. A new portfolio which adds 30+ new pictures and subtracts 20+ old ones. For a small net gain.
I have put this new porfolio in a new Gallery format that is fact and effecient.
Its a lightroom gallery that is made available through TTG

3. A new layout for the Wedding Gallery portion of my page

4. And as I said before the last 7 wedding related galleries (Which have only been on this Blog until now)
Including the latest wedding.

Which brings me to this question… which gallery is better 1 | 2 ?? (For sharing 200 plus pictures… I know which one is better for small galleries)

Moved

Posted by scottjarvie on August 5, 2007

I moved last week.
I’m still unpacking and getting things organized, but I’m mostly done.

The house is a wonderful deal with very large rooms and lots of space for all of my stuff. (I have a lot)

I was considering moving to another city in Utah or another state nearby… however to do so means I would have had the funds to survive for a while until I established myself as a known photographer in a new market.
Besides I have a few more weddings coming up in August and September here.

Therefore I am still in Provo, Utah (Near BYU) and I will still get to pretend that I’m still young because everyone around me is still in college and studying all day as I edit pictures and look for people to do stuff with when I get tired of editing pictures all day long.
