Background
I don’t buy water.
Seems kinda silly to buy what we get for free.
On the other hand I don’t like tap water and don’t drink it… so maybe I should buy some bottled water.
I was at the store with my cousin.
We were trying to figure out which one does suck and taste like the bottle.
There were 10 different brands of non-flavored non-sparkling
So I got them all.
Announcing the event of a lifetime:
Water tasting party
You know you wanna!
Tomorrow Sunday the 5th of April
12:30MST (In between sessions of conference)
854 E 350 N
Provo Ut
801-362-6372
Over 10 different kinds of water.
If you have another type you want to bring feel free to do so.
We will be doing a blind taste test. Meaning regular cups without knowing which water it is.
We will be solving this question once and for all…
Which is the best water?
Will there be people interested in the results?
Who will be coming? (RSVP please, so we can have enough cups available)
We will have about 12 waters at our taste testing…
Here is a site that reviews and talks about dozens of fancy waters from around the world
finewaters
And another one that caters more to where to get them
I did some checking and here are the results of an international contest
The thing is they were dealing with mostly water we don’t have access too… we’ll be dealing with ones that come right from our own local store.

Water? I like it wet and cold. I don’t care where it comes from, but I’ll avoid a store bought throw away bottle when I can. The tap water in Orderville is lousy. I thought the water in Murray tasted a little funny when I first moved into my house. Now it seems normal. I think you adjust to what you get used to.

Too bad we’re a few thousand miles away… Would love to see the results–will you post them here?
BTW-How will the contest be set up?
–Bracket where you decide which one of two is better (#1, or #2? #1, or #2?)?
–Each tester divides 100 total points between the 10 choices and you average the scores for each choice among the participants?
–Each participant ranks them in order (Best to Worst) and the choice gets points based on its position (Best, 10, Worst 1, etc.), you add the rankings together and get a new Best to Worst ranking based on all the totals?
Anyway. Hope you have a good turnout.

I loved the video David.
But here’s the thing… I don’t think I would ever trust someone like Penn or Teller.
And the show was just a big lopsided farce.
Granted great information about the things they wanted to tell you…
but that’s the thing, they only showed you what they edited into the show… what they wanted to show you.
Again fun video I’m glad I watched, but be very skeptical of it’s source… just like be skeptical of the source of the water you buy.

JErb
I sent out a message on twitter taking requests on what people think would be the best ranking system for the water.
The best way to rank or rate.
Any suggestions from this crowd?

Sorry-forgot to check the “notify me” box when I commented the first time and didn’t come back here to check until now.
Will look for your results =)

I’m disappointed that I live too far away for this. I had just been giving thought to water last night–I read this article:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2003/aug/10/foodanddrink.shopping
It was interesting. I was trying to decide whether or not mineral water is worth the trouble, but I haven’t found any agreement on the question of whether or not the minerals are easily absorbed by the body.

You are a dork! I personally think Arrowhead is the best and I have tried them all! So there is my vote.
